  • As a junior- year, chemical engineering student, student-athlete, resident assistant, member of Greek life, I think that I have a very broad perspective on what life at Trine is like. I have lived in both dorms and apartment style living. I know what great work the employment resource center does (i'm currently on co-op in the area). I understand that the small student to professor ratio is extremely important to student success (IF the student wants to succeed). I know the great memories and connections that Greek life can bring to people. I have done my best to aid international students as an RA and help them transition in and integrate into trine's culture. Here are my thoughts: - Professors are not supposed to be pushovers or your best friends, they are supposed to create a welcoming environment that is conducive for learning - which they do a great job of. -The apartment style living is very nice. Not what you would expect from a college campus. The dorm style living is traditional to what you would expect from a college campus. I preferred the apartment style living, but that's just me. - Coaches, trainers, and teammates understand that classwork comes first. Yet, you are still expected to make up anything that you miss (which is expected). - It is difficult for international students due to the language barrier which impedes integration. Most other students will not go out of their way to take the time to get to know international students unless they live with them. I, as an RA, tried my best to make sure that everyone was included. - Trine's Employment Resource Center is thriving with alumni connections to large and small companies. The men and women who work there are extremely passionate about helping students further their career. - Greek relations at the school (like many universities across the country) are always under the microscope and face scrutiny no matter what. However, the alumni relations , networking opportunities, memories made, and overall Greek atmosphere on campus is amazing. - A lot of the students at Trine grew up in a small town or are from a rural area, so there can be times when it feels very "country". Take that as you wish. -Trine University does a great job at presenting itself to the public and has created a great image for itself. The University is very student-oriented and has been growing over the past few years. In regards to negative comments previously made by others, students will always find something to complain about, no matter how small or large the problem may be. I visited 10 other schools (large and small) and would not have it any other way. If you plan on attending school just to party and go out on the weekends, then Trine isn't going to be your cup of tea. If you're going to school to get a quality education, meet genuine people, and enjoy your time, then you're in luck. I hope that helped clear up some confusion.

  • Nate is a great agent. I like how he listened to my concerns and needs and did not just try to push insurance products. He was extremely helpful and answered all my questions so I could understand. I even recommended him to the rest of my family! Great job Nate!

Counter help is always awesome but look out if you have to talk to a banker. They leave you sitting in them chairs waiting forever almost like they forgot about you. More then 5 times I have sat here like I am right now waiting to see a banker and 2 bankers aren't even busy with customers but yet been here 30 minutes and still no help. Like always just gonna walk out. Makes me so angry.
